Claymod

Thanks to the people who have tried it out so far. More enhancements and bug fixes are on the way. I made a few fixes for when you import a low polygon model from another program (say blender).. The texture now generates correctly. Here is a model that I created in Blender and painted the texture and some details in claymod.

Claymod Public Beta Released

The Claymod public beta is now available. You can pick it up at:

http://www.whitenoiseaudio.com/clay/

As you may know, Claymod is intented for creating high detail models and normal mapped low detail models (using a high detail model as a reference). It was written using the Irrlicht 3d engine. A typical workflow might consist of making a basic model in another modelling package, exporting it in a format claymod can read (OBJ is a good bet), doing your detail work and generating your final model with normal map and texture from claymod, then bringing it into another program for animation. Alternately you can do all your modelling in Claymod but your current options are a bit limited.

Please post any issues or comments here. I probably won't have much time to offer support this weekend, but I will be around..

Claymod close to beta

I posted a couple more pics here:

http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13645

As you can see I fixed some more bugs with the texturing.

Claymod is looking pretty close to being ready for beta. It should be more than usable for generating simple models with texturing or modifying models from other programs (all the important stuff is working). I just need to put together a simple web page for it, then I can start getting some feedback on it.
